====== Kate Geiss ======
Katherine Geiss, better known as Kate Geiss, is a human starship pilot in the League and War Eras. Geiss is a short European with blonde hair who uses the pronouns she/her.

===== League Era =====
Geiss was born on the 22nd of February, 4375, in Karabel, Izian Key.

Fascinated with flying from an early age, Geiss pursued a career as a commercial starship pilot. As the sole operator of a small ship, her business mostly involved running odd jobs in outlying systems where major carriers didn't bother providing service.

During a port call on Paratine, Kate met Teryakin Kalinna and took her on board as crew in exchange for help with repairs. The two fell in love and later married. Between the two of them, they operated a Lysander Loxley-class light freighter, the MV //Haunted Heart//.

The pair ran cargo, salvage, and courier jobs in the last decades of the League, living on the ship. During the buildup to the War of 4404, they occasionally delivered clandestine packages for Cara al Vakemeir, the chief of staff for Director Kowalski of the [[andromeda_alliance|Andromeda Alliance]].

===== War Era =====
During the War, the Geisses were well-employed salvaging the wrecks of ships destroyed in the fighting. This resulted in several close encounters with both Galactic Defense League warships and hostile salvage crews.

In 4407, the duo recovered the gun arm of the Combat Moth Gripen from a wreck and delivered it to the Black Bear Science Institute.

===== At the End of the World =====
In the far future, Teryakin and Kate Geiss were virtualised crew members on the [[expedition_ship|Expedition Ship]] //Frost Soundbite//. This ship was among those that responded to Eyrie Station's recall signal to mark the heat-death of this universe.
