David Hazelwood, the Sword of Ash Hill, is a human Knight of Cayd Rock in the Quiet Era. Hazelwood is a medium-height Afro-Saharan who uses the pronouns he/him.

Hazelwood is a renowned swashbuckler, seeking out the most action-packed knightly quests and taking them on with style. This has occasionally led to stumbles as a result of overconfidence or acting too quickly, but his flair is backed up with skill, and in every case he has resolved the situation well enough in the end.

As a knight, Hazelwood rose to prominence with his defence of Ash Hill] against the [[Eagle's Shadow, a brave action which saw him leading both ships and Huskarls against the pirates. He has since been called on often when a matter arises which involves the Hail Trade Alliance, as his exploits at Ash Hill earned him good standing there.

Like all Knights, Hazelwood was issued a monomolecular blade and a Bugorski gun (particle gun) from the Vectal Arsenal at Cayd Rock. His sword was named Fritsu (Love Bite) and his gun was named Polttava Koira (Burning Dog). On assignment, he usually commands the frigate Gravity is Subjective.
